RR Tail Diamonds
« on: April 20, 2006, 03:00 PM »
This is something I didn't know anything about till reading Elizabeth's Boetie stories.

I really thought it was just a cute little thing to put in a story but someone here on another thread made a reference to them.

What exactly are Tail Diamonds and what do they mean.

Picture's would really be nice.

Nothing makes a day more worth it than coming home to a pack of wagging RR's and their kisses......but watch out for those tails they'll get 'cha every time.

There is a picture of one on the breed standard topic. It's the dog on the left.

I know but I can't really see what your talking about, especially when I don't know what I'm looking for.

Michelle I will get a pic for you.. But if you go off the croup, down the top of the tail an inch or two on a pup, you will have this or can have this perfect diamond of black hair.  It fades as they shed.

Some are still slightly visual as adults.

I wondered what that was when they were puppies, I thought something was wrong with them, mine still have there's, it's the same color as the rest of their tail, but the hair is thicker and where the hair ends you can see the shape of a V, it's really neat when they get all hackled from playing too rough, the V get's hackled to but not the rest of the tail.

So is this thing a good thing or a bad thing
