Jengas father
« on: May 02, 2007, 04:57 PM »
Mrs Laurie Venter sent me the papers of Jenga. Her mother is Danntrig Japa of Glenaholm and her father is Chucklenook Jocko. After googling the names i didnt find the mother but i found her fathers photo and he is gorgeous:

Oh! He is a great dog! Very masculine.
Your mom (Jenga's mom ;)) is from Danntrig kennel (SthA).

Jengas mother  is Danntrig Japa of Glenaholm and her grandmother is Glenaholm Jyoti of Danntrig!!

So.... Glenaholm gave Danntrig a bitch and then Danntrig gave a bitch back to Glenaholm.

I love looking at the kennel names to see where the dogs come from. Some are puzzling ... like when puppies were born in Europe from an African bitch to an Australian male.

Regards

Norah

Oh! I was almost sure that Jenga's grandmother is Glenaholm Jyoti of Danntrig. Is her grandfather Pleasantview Bojelo of Roodedraai?

I believe that when Mrs Laurie told me Jenga is of the old african RR type with  broader foreheads and shorter muzzles she had her father in mind...... really nice dog. Jenga was a very beautiful puppy but she is becoming much more beautiful bitch.... like father like daughter  :)

Mike, Jocko's great. He looks like ridgies that I see hereabouts (Cape Town). I also googled him - why not ask Jentina to send you some more pics of him ... I'm sure she'd be happy to.

Hi All
As a point of order all RR are gorgeous and fabulous ?? and I whish you years of love, happiness and joy.

Here is the web address for Dantrig http://home.icon.co.za/~klouw/index.htm if you want to have a look at the Danntrig side of Jenga’s linage, and to see what their dogs look like.  On a sad note their male Entle Sipho of Danntrig passed away recently, he really was a very nice dog with a lovely temperament.

The dog on the their home page is our male Pleasantview Excaliber of Berlon, son of Entle Sipho of Danntrig and Roeby of Pleasantview.  Excaliber takes after his farther and is quite a muscular dog, a gentle giant with the most loving temperament and personality towards us, but not so friendly to strangers.  The puppies that he sires with our female Avalon, who is also quite muscular for a female, are all very muscular and strong dogs.  Must say that there can be quite a difference in the types of RR that is around, but we definitely prefer the athletic and muscular type, and are blessed to have dogs of this calibre.  There is a couple of photo’s of our dogs on the site, just check for my previous posts.

With regards to Norah’s remark – Danntrig Japa of Glenaholm implies that the Japa was bred by Danntrig and was owned by Glenaholm when she was bred, here in South Africa the breeder’s name is always first, then the dogs name, followed by the current owners kennel name, Is it the same in the US as well?

Regards

Nelius

Thanks for putting out the web site.  It is always nice to see other web pages.  I also agree that looking at pedigrees can be a lot of fun.

Katja thank you for your nice words, Tracy thank you too. Jentina is the Dantrig Kennel breeder?

Belron, i have saw the dantrig dogs and they are really beautiful but i didnt find Jengas mother since she is propably in Glenaholm kennel. All RR are very nice but i have seen dogs totally different one to another, your dogs as i saw in your photos are very beautiful and it seems you have a very nice time with them. I would like very much to have lots of dogs and animals if i lived outside of the city but i cant. In the future maybe i will have an other, maybe a Jengas puppy if i breed her. Keep having fun with your dogs.... ;)

Hi Mike - no, Jentina owns the kennel at which Jocko stands (Jenridge Kennels): http://ridgebackdogs.co.za/.

I just clicked and briefly scanned the Dantrig kennel link provided and under the progeny page, here is the link.

http://home.icon.co.za/~klouw/progeny.html

There are a couple of Dantrig RR's living here in the USA. One crossed with Glenaholm as well.  Both with the same kennel, looks like a male and female. I see that the African dogs not only make it to Greece but here in the states as well. I am sure there are many more.

Yep went further and there were two more for the states.
