We finally took the dogs for a well deserved short vacation (well deserved for the 2 legged that spend all their free time putting up a fence for the 4 legged anyway!).
It was Maisha's first experience in the woods and I have to say I am extremely impressed with her. Hiking was not a problem, she has energy to burn. I thought it might be a little too much for such a young pup, so we took it easy, but she went up and down the mountain with incredible ease, like she'd been doing that all her life! AND she would come running to us every time we called her. Unbelievable. Knock on wood that it lasts!
She also discovered the joys of camping, the hard life, no sofas, no beds, no blankets... but wait, what's that I see? A CHAIR? Oooooh, let's see if I can fit on there...
Aaaah, now that's what I call camping!

Oh, mom's got one of those too? And she's gone

I think I will try hers, see if it's better than mine...
You snooze, you loose!

Of course, dad was keeping watch to make sure nothing happened to her

The other big discovery was of course water. Surprisingly, she didn't seem to hate it. She even got half wet.
Testing the water

She seemed to enjoy the beach, if we could call it that...

A few more pictures that I really like:

Oh, and good news, the dogs now officially have a fenced in yard they can call their own. It still needs a few adjustments and embellishments, but it now serves its purpose and the 4 legged family can run their hearts out.
How's that for a vacation!
