Graphics Guidelines
In order to maintain a user friendly and readable board format the following guidelines for user graphics are presented. These guidelines are subject to change as it might be necessary.
All graphics must be family friendly.
How to set up your graphics for use on the board.
In order to use graphics on the board, they have to be .jpg, .gif, or .png
Your graphics must be uploaded somewhere on the internet. If you do not have your own webspace for graphics, try
www.photobucket.com (which is free and very easy to use).
If you need help figuring out how to get your graphics to work, get the codes or spacing correct, post, email or IM me and I will try to help!
Graphic Signatures
The total amount of space allotted per person for graphic signatures is 8.33"W 2.75"H which is 600 x 200 pixels at 72dpi. This space can be used in any number of ways. Your graphic signature may include things like birthday tickers, weather stickers, etc. Please avoid using blinking or animated graphics if possible.
Graphics that appear to be an advertisement for a commercial purpose will be removed.
Avatars (the one that goes next to your name in the thread list and in anything you post - IE: My picture of Jazzy's Back)
Your personal avatar can be pretty much anything you want. A photo, a clip art or an animation. It must be 65x65 pixels or less at 72 dpi.
Avatars are entered into the account preferences section in the Control Center. Enter the URL of your graphic into field called "Personalized Picture." Don't forget to click "Change Profile" at the bottom.
Most people choose to put a picture of a dog here, but it can be any appropriate graphic you want. The size of this graphic is automatically determined when you upload it. Whatever graphic you put there is automatically resized to 65x65 pixels. It looks best if what you upload is sized to be pretty close to 65x65 pixels. I usually size mine to no more than 100x100 pixels, just to be safe.
"Off color" graphics.
Please remember that this is a family board and that many of our members have children who can read and understand the graphics that you use as they look over mom's or dad's shoulder while s/he is on the computer.
Inappropriate graphics are not allowed for use on the site.
