Finn and Beau's Labor Day at the Beach

Summer is gone and here in Florida, that is good thing.   We went to the beach for Labor Day - Melbourne Shores to be exact - and spent 3 relaxing days there.

On our first night, we got to witness a nest of baby Loggerheads make their way to the ocean.


We had to hold tight to the boys as they wanted to chase them - along with the crabs and the tide.


Finn loved the beach and wanted to go out there every chance he could.  In the morning, there were the shore birds and the foam... and of course, the crabs.  Here he is with his flying ears

On Sunday, the very outer bands of Gustav could be seen to the south and we had a semi-cloudy day - but we enjoyed the beach anyhow.  Here are Beau and Finn after a tough day of walking, playing and beaching.  Although they are technically not allowed on the beach, they can go in the morning and the evening.  The beach where we stay is not that crowded at all and others have their dogs down there, too

Love the baby turtles hatching!! Hope you had a GREAT labor day and thanks for sharing the pictures. Beau and Finn look great.

Great pictures -  great pictures of the tiny turtles making their way to the ocean. 

I especially liked the 'tired pups' photo.... it's moments like those that make the effort of exercising them worth it (especially when you don't feel like logging your butt outdoors

What wonderful photos - they are both looking good!!  I love the wee things hatching, how cool you got to see that.  I am envious of you being able to go to the beach "sigh".  Thank you so much for sharing, looks like you had a good time.  Also loved the tired out pups.

Thanks for the wonderful compliments, everyone.  The dogs, and the people, had a great time this past week-end.  We were a little worried about the Gustav bands, but lucky us.  We got nothing but a glimpse of those bands

Still praying for those in the the direct path of the storm.
