RR's and CATS
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:58 AM »
Some people are either a dog-person or a cat-person  8) I'm BOTH  ;D
And I just love watching them together.
One of my cats, is totally addicted from Bu. Bu is his big brother, his idol and best friend. Their relationship is just incredible.
I bet there are more cat lovers on this forum!
Pictures coming in my next post...

My bed  8)

This cat's name is "Piorun" which means "thunder". The name is quite opposite to the cat's attidude. And this is one of Piorun's happiest moments - when he can be so close to his soulmate...

Do these need any comment?...

Those pics are sooo cute. I envy you. My husband suffers from an allergy to cats, such a pity...

We own two cats now and hopefully a RR puppy sometime this year. Very early in the learning stages for us. From all we have read about this breed, they tend to get along well with other animals.  I love seeing all the pictures, hopefully I can now convince my husband this will work for our family.

We have three RRs and One BRAVE kitty. And Kitty has no claws. All the dogs are great with her...shy of pestering the hell out of her. Not that Kitty doesnt get her kicks in. LOL

We could never declaw the Kitty's. I hope when we find the right puppy that it loves cats. Is that normal to have to remove the claws as a safety precaution? I have never owned a dog, my husband has.

Oh no, we didnt remove the kitty's claws. They were already done when we got her. In fact I would rather that she had them, just to be able to give our dogs a "warning" if needed.

Our cat is about 5 pounds and full grown. She is an inside and outside kitty.( but just hangs out around our yard)  And even with no claws she can still hunt birds and whatever else. CRAZY. For the life of me I cant see how she could catch a bird.

All of the pictures are great!  We have a 3 yo RR male and two cats - 12 yo Siamese, 5 yo Persian.  The dog tries his hardest to be friends with the cats but the do not want any of it.  I feel terrible especially when he carries his toys and put them in front of the cats while doing his play bow.  The do not run from him but still do not want to be near him.  Oh Well!

We have two RRs and two cats.  It's a love/hate relationship here.  They'll lay close to each other, but never would they snuggle!
Every boy should have two things:
a dog, and a mother willing to let him have one.

Did he bay the cat off his spot on the sofa?

Well.  Here is my dog and my cat.  They do get along, but sometimes Beau just has to "nom nom nom" on Toby

Your cat seems to be saying : Come on Showoff - the picture has been taken - you can stop playing the role of the tough RR! :)

Toby is actually very tolerant of both my RRs.  Now that Beau is older, he does not bother him as much.  Finn is another story.  Toby has plenty places he can go to get away from them and it amazes me that he will stay and allow the abuse.  ;D.  Although, when he has had enough, he is not afraid to reach out and whack them.

See my cat is such an idiot, he NEVER whacks Rowan! So Rowan has no respect for the cat, its ridiculous. Loki is a Bengal for crying out loud, he is supposed to be a fiesty wild cat! Nope. Not at all. Big ol softy when it comes to Rowan.  ::)

Toby has only whacked 2 times.  His usual form of defense is to bite their ears!  Go figure.  His biggest and best defense are 20 little sharp knives attached to his feet  ;D.  He will whack close pawwed - no claws extended.  I have no idea what he thinks that is going to accomplish

Ok, so Loki DID bite Rowan's ear once when he was about 9 weeks old, but nothing since. Its funny though, ever since we got Rowan, Loki has become MUCH more confident. He used to hide under the covers of our bed when guests came over, but now he GREETS the guest, by rubbing his entire body across their shins. Now that he has to compete for attention he will take whatever he can get!

Bella the Maine Coon, doesn't care for the dog really  :-\ ... Bagheera likes to cuddle with her.  :-*

I love my kids! :)
