Snow in the West!
« on: February 04, 2012, 01:16 PM »
We got almost 30 inches of snow here in Boulder, CO over the past day and a half!  Nelson loved it!  Here are some pictures of our walk yesterday, about halfway through the storm when about 18 inches had dropped.

Awesome!  Make a maze for him, he may like it..  Here is a quick video of Ari's first "agility course" last year after heavy snow - was great fun, but only works once, next winter they are way too big for this..

Wow!  That looks like fun!  Right now, the snow is above his shoulders.  A maze would be so much fun!

Wow!!

When I still lived in NJ, my RR & GSD would play tag in the snow .. my RR was BIG - about 120 lbs. & she would plough through the snow.  We could watch her progress like watching a mole .. they loved it!!

I was just telling a friend that Nelson looks more like he is swimming than walking in the snow.  He seems to just glide right through it.  He's only 70 pounds so I can imagine that at 120 pounds, your RR would have no trouble at all in the snow!  So much fun today!

Nelson is learning how to sled Boulder-style:

I just realized how huge these pictures are!  Sorry everybody.  I'll remember to resize them next time.    ::)

These photos are great Pam. We never get snow here (South Australia) in the winter, just rain & hail if we are lucky, & so our dogs dont get to have this experience. Mind you, today was 14c & it is still summer, so we might get lucky this year.

Great pictures!  You really are getting hit hard by winter out there.  Somebody posted a link on Facebook to three Dachsies pulling a sled along the ploughed street in Long Island.  they were having a ball and the little girl was too, riding along on the sled.  Perhaps you can train Nelson to snowboard!!
